Reviewing Book Twisted: (Never After Series) by Emily McIntyre

 Review

"Twisted" by Emily McIntire is a modern-day classic inspired by the Aladdin story, weaving in a fractured fairy tale that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. The story follows Yasmin Karam, a young woman who has led a privileged life under her father's care until his illness changes everything. Yasmin's father has a dying wish for her to marry a man of his choosing, but her heart belongs to another. This sets the stage for a captivating deal with her father's protege, Julian Faraci, who has his own ambitious plans.

The portrayal of Yasmin's relationship with her ailing father strikes a poignant chord, resonating with those who have experienced similar situations. It's a testament to the author's ability to create relatable characters and emotions, allowing readers to see themselves within the pages of the story.

I read this book in sprints, creating substantial gaps between sessions. This isn't a reflection of disinterest but rather a testament to the story's allure. McIntire has skillfully crafted a narrative that keeps readers invested in the characters and their journey.

The ties to Aladdin were so fun, and the idea that "Jafar" gets "Jasmine" is crazy.

I can't quite figure out how Emily makes you, dare i say, like Julian?? Sympathize?

"Twisted" by Emily McIntire is a captivating and modern spin inspired by the Aladdin story that will keep readers engaged and emotionally connected to the characters. With its enemies-to-lovers trope, medium burn romance, and contemporary setting, it's a book that appeals to a diverse audience. If you're a fan of fractured fairy tales with a dash of spice, "Twisted" should be on your reading list.
